APRO-GEL PIG

APRO-GEL PIG fluids are highly viscous gelled fluids which can be used to achieve superior results for most pigging operations-cleaning, drying, batching, inhibitor treatments and more. APRO-GEL PIG technology is specifically designed and engineered to suit specific pipeline conditions of customers.

A typical APRO-GEL PIG cleaning train may contain tens or hundreds of meters of gel, and is used in conjunction with many types of mechanical pigs. Some applications, such as separation of liquids or isolation techniques, can possibly use gel alone, but should incorporate mechanical pigs, wherever possible.

APRO-GEL PIG cleaning method is particularly effective and economical for long pipelines, producing a cleaner line, in much less time, and with significant cost savings. Pipeline gels have been successfully used in virtually all types of pipelines-natural gas, crude oil, finished products, water lines, on-shore and off-shore. APRO-GEL PIG fluids can be made from a variety of base fluids (non-aqueous and aqueous-based) to suit the specific needs of each application.

APRO-GEL PIG and APRO-GEL PIG fluids are sold as a service-not as stand-alone products-engineered and supplied by us.

A. END PLUGGING TYPES

This type is the most widely used product.

The Purpose of the APRO SAFETY GAG is twofold

– To aid in preventing a “blow out” of the stopper.
– To prevent the pipe or tube from expanding under the grip and mandrel pressure, and to contain or restrain the pipe or tube to its original circular condition.

B. INSIDE PLUGGING TYPE

– Permits testing on short sections of welded pipe and on individual flange welds and nozzles on pressure vessels
– No need to fill long section of pipe with water to hydrostatic test a particular weld or segment of pipe
– Reverse plugs have a solid stem and are held in place by hardened steel reverse grips
– Plugs are reusable and may last indefinitely

C. SOCKET WELD PLUG

The socket weld plug type eliminates the need for welding plugs or nipples onto standard socket weld openings in order to conduct pressure tests.
Provisions for filling and venting thru the stem can be furnished when required

Use safety gag

– Using APRO HIGH PRESSURE PIPE STOPPERS to test piping, tubing and pressure vessels can result in savings over conventional methods such as welding on caps or plates, then remachining the pipe end.
– APRO HIGH PRESSURE PIPE STOPPERS are reusable and replacement parts are available.

D. CAP TYPE

– Cap types are designed to quickly seal a plain-end pipe or tube, and eliminate welding on a cap for hydrostatic testing or flushing.
